Traveling in a group can be fun, but sometimes it’s nice to personalize your vacation and not worry about your group having input on the activities. If you’re looking for long days at the beach, translucent water, and great Instagram scenery you should visit Florida. Florida has become a great hotspot for vacations due to the beautiful beaches, scenery, and of course, Disney World. However, Florida has a lot more to offer than just Mickey Mouse.

Places in Florida to Travel

Here are the four places you should venture to if you’re considering taking your next vacation to this wonderful state.

1. St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg has a lot to offer. It has won a Guinness World Record for the most consecutive days of sunshine. If you’re an art enthusiast make sure to check out The Dali, which holds the largest collection of paintings by the famous Salvador Dali himself.

If you’re not into the museum scene and love the outdoors, St Petersburg has seven miles of waterfront parks for all visitors to enjoy. Of course, if you love the beach, you should plan a day to go to the beautiful St. Pete Beach. The beach is great for alone time and enjoying the gorgeous view. If your planning a trip to St. Pete, make sure you visit one of the best beaches in this area.

2. St. Augustine

If you’re into history, St. Augustine is the place for you. Here you can take a free tour of Flagler College. Flagler College was originally the Ponce De Leon Hotel established in 1888 by Henry Flagler, the building is a “masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance architecture.”

Now if your interests are more aligned with the paranormal, you can check out the St. Augustine Ghosts and Gravestones tour. Their website features actual ghost stories that you can check out before booking. Look out on Groupon for the best deals to save money while encountering the paranormal. You can mix history with outrageous facts by visiting Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum. The museum itself is located in the historic Castle Warden.

To visit Florida and not experience seeing an actual alligator would be a shame. To immerse yourself in wildlife plan a visit to Jungle Island. Jungle Island allows you to have up-and-close interactions with animals. The staff at Jungle Island will take your picture with a lemur or the animal of your choosing. Having a photo with a lemur is certainly something to write home about.
