Brainly: Could This Be the New Way of Tutoring?

Growing up, my generation had to use encyclopedias and yahoo answers to find help. If those were not an option, we hired tutors or scheduled appointments with our teachers to get one-on-one guidance. In this day and age, students can rely on Brainly, which is a place that allows students and professionals alike to ask questions about their homework and studies. Brainly is not only a website, but an app that can be accessed on both android and apple devices. This way, students are able get the help they need in and out of the library.

On Brainly, students and teachers come together for students to ask questions and give answers to one another. Teachers are also available to not only offer answers, but provide support for their students. It is a community with the same common goal: to gain knowledge. Brainly is a virtual tutor that has many perspectives and insights. Students and teachers answer the questions, and the app/website can verify the answers.

Reviews

Going between the internet, Google Play Store by Android, and App Store by Apple, there are mixed reviews, which helps students get a full perspective on what the users truly think of Brainly, and if it truly can be the new way of tutoring.

For the internet: Places such as Sitejabber rated Brainly a 1.42 out of 5 stars, rated from 50 reviews. Trustpilot gives Brainly a 2.1 out of 5 stars, rated from 31 reviews. It is important to keep in mind that due to the small amount of reviews on both, the star rating can change drastically with only 1 or 2 reviews.

Google Play Store: The app has over 10 million downloads, with over 775,000 reviews, and a star rating of 4.4 out of 5.

App Store: The app was placed number 10 in Educational Applications, with over 6,200 reviews, and a star rating of 4.4 out of 5.

The reviews range simply because of the type of users and how the application is truly benefiting them. Although answers may be verified and given by experts, that does not stop other users from being spammers, who might finger jam the keyboard for answers as a joke. With that, it does turn users away that genuinely need help, but with reviews, it allows the developers to see the issues and fix them, so reviews are more than just an opinion. They can also be constructive feedback to fix issues.

Is it Free?

Brainly is free to an extent, which also plays into the reviews. It is something that is free to download and use lightly, but they do have two subscription options: Semi-Annually and Annually. Semi-Annually is 18 dollars, which is billed every 6 months.. Annual prices are 24 dollars, which are billed once a year. The Brainly Basic, which is the free option does not give you all inclusive information, making it only 2 dollars a month.

So, Could This Be the New Way of Tutoring?

Taking into account that a student can get help wherever they may be, it is like having a tutor in your pocket at all times. Brainly shows students step by step on how to solve something, rather than just giving them answers. As technology continues to advance, this can be the start of greater success for students and students alike. So keep reviewing, asking questions, and learning. Brainly is here to help you!
